Celebrate the independent design community with our special activities this Saturday 30 July at V&A Dundee

We’ve teamed up with Tea Green’s Summer Design Market to celebrate independent design.

You’re invited to browse and shop the 2022 Daytrippers! collection, enjoy live demos, custom made cocktails and special offers such as free personalised monogramming.

We’ll be there from 10am until 5pm on Saturday 30th July, so come along and enjoy a day of shopping, design - and hopefully - some sunshine.

Pack Your Own Zero-Waste Picnic

1-2pm (Every 10mins)
A live demonstration of how to pack your own zero-waste picnic using items from a new range at the V&A Dundee shop selected by Retail Manager, Erin Thompson. Meet Fiona Hall of Camban Studio, the designer of our Playtime Picnic Blanket and find out more about the design and production of this limited edition commission.

Have your initials, or those of a loved one, embroidered by Andie Sewing School onto one of our limited edition silk cotton furoshiki-scarves.

An Introduction to Furoshiki - Wrap, Carry, Display

2—3pm (Every 15mins)
Watch live demos of all of the different ways that you can use our specially commissioned furoshiki (Fu-rosh-ki) from our custom leather straps by Fernweh to our bespoke hanging poles. We're celebrating Japanese design culture and sustainability with four multi-use scarves. Furoshiki are very popular in Japan where they are used to wrap gifts and shopping, hung as artworks to brighten interiors and worn as scarves and bags.
